Part-time care assistant job for a medical student in South Limburg

• Working hours: Part-time, from 8 to a maximum of 40 hours per week
• Location: Various elderly care locations in Maastricht, Heerlen and Heuvelland
• Hourly wage: 16.25 - 18.95 per hour

Are you studying medicine in Maastricht and would you like to gain relevant experience in elderly care alongside your studies, with shifts that fit your schedule?

You will work at a large healthcare organisation in South Limburg, with a professional yet informal atmosphere. After a short ADL training (2 to 6 hours), you will initially shadow a buddy on the ward. Together, you will support the care team in providing daily care to residents. You will work at various locations in Maastricht, Heerlen and the Heuvelland region, which are easily accessible by public transport and bicycle. Travel expenses are reimbursed for both public transport and private transport. You will work flexible shifts, allowing you to combine your work easily with lectures, clinical rotations and exams.

What you will do:

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADL), such as washing, dressing and putting residents to bed.
• Support residents with eating, drinking and small daily activities on the ward.
• Offer a listening ear and help create a calm, friendly atmosphere in the rooms and common room.
• Report signs concerning residents' well-being to nurses and care staff.
• Be part of the care team and gain practical experience working in a professional care environment.

What we offer you

• Hourly wage between €16,25 and €18,95, including allowances
• Flexible shifts from 8 hours per week
• Part-time employment contract with weekly payment
• Holiday pay, holiday hours and travel reimbursement for public transport/private transport

What we ask of you

You are a committed medical student who wants to gain practical experience in elderly care and enjoys interacting with residents and colleagues.

• University medical student
• Available for at least 8 hours per week, including evenings/weekends
• Willing to work in Maastricht, Heerlen and Heuvelland
• Good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written
• Empathetic, patient and a strong communicator with residents and the team
