What you will do

Do you enjoy customer contact, like working with delicious food, and would you enjoy working in a traditional shop in the heart of Maastricht? At Hendriks Poelier, you will have a part-time job as a delicatessen shop sales assistant that fits well around your studies or personal life, with fixed opening hours from Tuesday through Saturday.

You will also build product knowledge about chicken, poultry, game and specialties, learn to work according to hygiene regulations (HACCP) and become familiar with cash register systems. All this takes place in a shop where you get to know regular customers and where there is room to ask questions, contribute ideas and develop yourself step by step.

Your duties as a delicatessen shop sales assistant:

• Welcome customers in a friendly manner and advise them about our range.
• Weigh, package and present products neatly in the display counter.
• Process purchases and carry out checkout duties.
• Restock the shop and keep it clean and well-organized.
• Prepare orders and help open and close the shop.
• Work together in a small team where everyone pitches in.

  
  

What we offer you

You will have a part-time job with clear terms and room to learn. Below, you can see at a glance what you can expect from us in practical terms.

• Hourly wage: €15,42 per hour from age 21
• Flexible working hours: between 9 and 38 hours per week
• Working hours during the day from Tuesday through Friday between 09.00 and 18.00 and on Saturday until 16.00.
• Holiday allowance: 8% accrued in accordance with the collective labour agreement
• Holiday days: in accordance with the collective labour agreement, in line with your contracted hours
• A varied job with lots of customer contact.

What we ask of you

You are a good fit for us if you are customer-oriented, enjoy working together and like working in a traditional shop with regular customers.

• You are friendly, easy to get along with and helpful
• You are tidy, precise and pay attention to hygiene
• You have experience with a cash register or learn this quickly
• You are available at least 1 day per week during opening hours (splitting the day into separate parts is also possible)
• You live in (the area around) Maastricht
