Do you want to do meaningful work in elderly care during your holiday or alongside your studies and increase your practical experience? As a healthcare student, you will work through ASA at healthcare organizations in your area. You will work in departments where elderly people live who can use your help. You participate in the team, support daily care, and have real contact with residents. You plan your shifts flexibly around your studies, exams, and free time. One day you help in the morning with starting up and personal care, the other day you work an evening shift in which you help residents go to bed and have a chat in the room or living room.

What you will do:

  • You support residents with personal care, such as washing, showering, dressing, and oral care.
  • You help with eating and drinking, prepare meals, and pay attention to appetite and fluid intake.
  • You support mobility, for example helping in and out of bed, transfers with a hoist, and walking with aids.
  • You make time for a chat, listen to residents, and contribute to a pleasant, calm atmosphere in the department.
  • You work together with colleagues, pass on details, and learn to work according to the agreements in the team.

What we ask of you

We are looking for someone who works with attention in elderly care, at different healthcare organizations in your region, with shifts that fit your studies and private life.

  • Availability: You can be deployed in the summer holidays and/or for a flexible side job, also in evenings and weekends.
  • Living in the region: You live in or near the region where you want to work through ASA and can travel independently to shifts.
  • Education level: You are studying Verzorgende IG (mbo 3) or Verpleegkunde (mbo/hbo), or have a Helpende Zorg en Welzijn diploma and have started a follow-up study.
  • Characteristics: You have internship experience with ADL care (preferably signed off), are careful, eager to learn, and treat the elderly with respect.
